— Spread Kindness
All of us can do SOMETHING to make the world a better place. We are ALL needed, and have the ability, to make a difference. In order to do this, you need two things: to know about the need, and know how to help. This is my mission.
Two of my greatest passions are Foster Care & Adoption, and the fight to End Racism. I write on these topics often, and pray these resources help you get involved. Under Care Stories, you will find my posts that advocate for an area of need. From a neighbor who just had surgery, to starving children in Africa…you name it, I care about it. In each post, I will advocate for the cause, and list action steps and ways you can get involved. Just look for the “How You Can Help” part of the post, and see if it’s something you can do. Sometimes the need is simple, and sometimes it takes a community effort. But I believe in the power of together, and TOGETHER we can make a difference!

— Trauma Training
The mountains and valleys of parenthood can be isolating, exhausting, and uncertain. Parenting children with past trauma makes that journey even more difficult to navigate. I believe God has given me the experiences I have had in my own parenting journey to help others, and it has become my passion to do just that.
I am a certified trainer for Trauma Competent Caregiving, a life-giving training full of skills to help you manage behaviors in your home, and build a stronger relationship with your beautiful children. I offer this training online for your convenience. For those seeking more one-on-one support, I also provide Parent Coaching on a limited basis.
I am here to offer support to you, fellow Moms and Dads, and want to share the tools that helped our children, and us, thrive.

— Just for Fun
With 4 kids, 2 dogs, more-than-I-can-count cats, 3 horses, and some chickens…life is sure to get wild! Oh, and did I mention I homeschool?
Some days, I just have to share the hilarious mishaps that happen here on “The Funny Farm”. Other days, I find myself sharing the hard life lessons that inevitably come with growth. And, with foster care, I’ve learned to adjust our routines at the drop of a hat to add a child into our family, or clean out a closet to make room for one more. From meal planning, to organization, to (I’ll admit) utter chaos, I’ve got a story for you. As my favorite shirt says, “I run a tight shipwreck”, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
At the very least, you’ll get a good laugh out of the beautiful mess we find ourselves in most days. Like how we went from 6 cats to 24 cats in a matter of 2 weeks…or the time I spilled half a gallon of paint on my bathroom floor. I hope you enjoy reading these Just for Fun posts as much as I enjoy writing them. 🙂
